Enforcement Questions From Clients: If I Am Not a Doctor Can I Get in Trouble With the Medical Board?

June 25, 2021

Michael Byrd and Brad Adatto answer the final Enforcement Question From Clients: If I am not a doctor can I get in trouble with the medical board?

Transcript

Michael: Yes. The medical board will regulate the unauthorized practice of medicine. If they see non-doctors overextending into the world of, what they consider, the practice of medicine, then they are going to come after it. The risk is in these non-invasive treatments that people do not realize are actually the practice of medicine.

Brad: Unfortunately, your best day with the medical board is that you get a cease and desist letter and that is what you agree to. If you spent a lot of time and money putting together the advertising and building out your project, you are going to be prohibited from law from actually continuing to provide those services.

So yes, you as a non-physician can get in trouble by the medical board.
